Royale Airlines was a regional / commuter airline with headquarters on the grounds of Shreveport Regional Airport in Shreveport, Louisiana.[1]
Royale that operated in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee and Florida from the 1960s to the late 1980s. It flew mainly turboprop aircraft such as the Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante , Beechcraft Model 99, Grumman Gulfstream G-I. Royale also flew 2 DC-9-14's from Houston, Texas to Brownsville, Texas. Royale codeshared with Continental Airlines during the final years prior to its bankruptcy Chapter 11 filing on 9/9/1987.
Among the various cities served by Royale were Pensacola as well as Lake Jackson's, Brazoria County Airport from Houston (IAH).
Royale's Chapter 11 bankruptcy was changed to Chapter 7 bankruptcy in February 1989.
